The countdown begins…you look around surrounded by your friends…you feel hopeful that this year will be better than the last. For a moment, time stands still as you think back to all the good and the bad from the past year that led you to this moment.
3… 2… 1… the crowd erupts in cheers. Friends hugging one another and lovers sharing that special new year kiss. You hear your favorite artist wishing you a happy new year. You have a clean slate to promise yourself to another great year. I personally love New Years for that feeling, even better getting to experience this at a music festival. As the year is coming to a close, music festivals are popping up around the country to provide that experiences for you to ring in 2019.
Over the coming weeks I’ll be highlighting the various music festivals around the US that will be happening on or around New Years.
Let’s Talk About SnowGlobe
Travel up to South Lake Tahoe, California for New Years. This 3 day festival has a stacked lineup. I have not been to SnowGlobe although it has been on my bucket list. I am so jealous of those who will get to experience this festival after they dropped the lineup for this year.
The Lineup
Above & Beyond, Rezz, and Eric Prydz sure are making their rounds this New Years season. Also jealous with RL Grime and Gorgon City gracing this lineup. The b2bs on this lineup will also be a treat: Chris Lake b2b Walker & Royce, Manila Killa b2b Chet Porter, AC Slater b2b Wax Motif. This lineup will surely please anyone’s music interests. Not to mention Brownies & Lemonade will be doing a takeover which if you don’t know who Brownies & Lemonade are, I highly recommend checking them out. They usually have a couple surprise artists up their sleeves.
How to Prepare
If you need help preparing for SnowGlobe, read these two blog posts from my guest writer Rachel Murphey.
Ticket Information
Tickets are currently starting at $199 without fees. You can get your tickets here.
If you are interested in going to SnowGlobe, here’s somethings to consider:
- The Lineup!: if it’s for you or not
- Travel: Are you willing to travel and how much would it cost (i.e. driving vs. flying)?
- Lodging: Where would you stay and how much would it cost?
Wishing you a happy NYE with whatever you decide to attend!
