The countdown begins…you look around surrounded by your friends…you feel hopeful that this year will be better than the last. For a moment, time stands still as you think back to all the good and the bad from the past year that led you to this moment.
3… 2… 1… the crowd erupts in cheers. Friends hugging one another and lovers sharing that special new year kiss. You hear your favorite artist wishing you a happy new year. You have a clean slate to promise yourself to another great year. I personally love New Years for that feeling, even better getting to experience this at a music festival. As the year is coming to a close, music festivals are popping up around the country to provide that experiences for you to ring in 2019.
Over the coming weeks I’ll be highlighting the various music festivals around the US that will be happening on or around New Years.
Let’s Talk About Lights All Night
Lights All Night is the longest running EDM festival in Texas. Make your way to Dallas on December 28th and 29th for a night filled with good music and even better vibes. I’m impartial to Texas festivals since I live here but the Texas rave fam is filled with genuine and fun people. I’ve had soooo much fun at Texas festivals. I have not been to Lights All Night, but have heard great things about it.
The Lineup
This lineup is pretty stacked with headliners like Diplo, Kaskade, Rezz, Excision, Tiesto and Gucci Mane. Not going to lie Gucci Mane seems a little bit out place as one of the only rappers on this lineup, but should be a good time if you’re a Gucci fan. Some other artists I’d be interested to see include: 1788-L, Anti Up (Chris Lake & Chris Lorenzo), Charlesthefirst, Jai Wolf, Nora en Pure, Quix, Sofi Tukker, Ekali, Eprom b2b Bleep Bloop, Funtcase, Hotel Garuda, Luca Lush, and Shiba San. This lineup is pretty diverse giving everyone a little something.
It also appears on their website that this festival will be spread across five stages and have tons of art installations (hello good insta pics!!!).
Ticket Information
2 day tickets are currently starting at $149.00 before taxes and fees. You can add on express entry and there is a pre-party experience you can also add on that will bump up the ticket price quite a bit. There are two opening sets each day in the pre-party: a Kaskade Redux set and Ekali House set. You would have to purchase the “2 DAY GA – Pre Party + Express Entry (18+)” ticket that is starting at $189.oo. There are also VIP options available that you can check out.
If you are interested in going to Lights All Night, here’s some things to consider:
- The Lineup!: if it’s for you or not
- Travel: Are you willing to travel and how much would it cost (i.e. driving vs. flying)?
- Lodging: Where would you stay and how much would it cost?
I hope this helps! Wishing you an awesome New Years 🙂
