The countdown begins…you look around surrounded by your friends…you feel hopeful that this year will be better than the last. For a moment, time stands still as you think back to all the good and the bad from the past year that led you to this moment.
3… 2… 1… the crowd erupts in cheers. Friends hugging one another and lovers sharing that special new year kiss. You hear your favorite artist wishing you a happy new year. You have a clean slate to promise yourself to another great year. I personally love New Years for that feeling, even better getting to experience this at a music festival. As the year is coming to a close, music festivals are popping up around the country to provide that experiences for you to ring in 2019.
Over the coming weeks I’ll be highlighting the various music festivals around the US that will be happening on or around New Years.
If you’re still stuck on where you’d like to ring in 2019, maybe Decadence Colorado is the move for you. Home of Global Dance, Decadence Colorado, is held in Denver at the Colorado Convention Center. While there is also a Decadence in Arizona, Colorado always brings it with the lineups filled with incredible artists.
Decadence Colorado
While I’ve never been to Colorado for a festival, I have always heard amazing things about the scene there. I mean hello they have Global Dance Festival and Red Rocks right there in Denver. My friend Brenda last year contributed a review of Decadence Colorado last year that made me envious of her New Years experience. If you’re able to make the travel plans to get to Denver, this festival could be for you.
The Lineup
While there is typically some overlap between Arizona and Colorado (Eric Prydz, Marshmello, A&B, Alison Wonderland and Skrillex), there are still some standout acts that make the Colorado lineup unique from the rest. Zeds Dead hasn’t been on many lineup announcements for NYE which has me insanely jealous. This is the first appearance for 3LAU on NYE lineups as well as Bassnectar (aside from his own show 360), Griz, Camelphat, and Nora en Pure. I believe there are more artists to be announced, but for now this is a pretty solid lineup.

- Travel: Are you willing to travel and how much would it cost (i.e. driving vs. flying)?
- Lodging: Where would you stay and how much would it cost?
