Probably the most stressful part to going to a festival besides securing travel plans and itinerary has to be deciding what to wear!!! I love using festivals as a way to express my style and creativity so I always put more thought into what I am wearing. If you are stressing about what to wear to Coachella this year, here are some tips and ideas to help you figure out what to wear.
I like to call my style comfort chic. I want to be comfortable in whatever I wear, but still make it have some flair to it. You will see at Coachella people wearing these extravagant outfits which they may be comfortable or uncomfortable just depends. You have to remember that it’s going to be hot (you’re in the desert after all!) and you’re going to want to move around. Try on outfits beforehand that you think you can accomplish being comfortable in while having some room to move. Here are some Coachella outfit tips/essentials:
- Bandanas are key to helping keep the dust out. Find a cute bandana to accessorize any outfit. I brought three different ones last year since I was camping and didn’t have a way to clean the bandanas each day.
- Loose clothing is a great way to keep cool and is super comfortable!
- Get some fun shades for during the day
- If you want to wear fun gems and jewels, use eyelash glue to make sure they’ll stay!
- When it comes to shoes, choose shoes you can walk around a lot in. I mostly wore Converse and Adidas Superstars which weren’t exactly Coachella aesthetic but my feet were thanking me for keeping them supported.
- For bags you can choose a backpack (lots of zippers to keep pickpockets away!) or a fanny pack. I regret not bringing my hydration backpack since it was super hot. Checkout Vibedration for a hydration pack, they just released a ton of new prints. (Use VIBEWITHADE for $$$ off).
- A foldable fan or spray bottle will also help you keep cool and your neighbors around you in the crowd will love you!
Here are the outfits I wore last year, I went with more flowy options like a fun romper for Day 1, a bodysuit and flowy shorts for day 2 and day 3 I did a mesh crop top and denim shorts (the only day I wore denim!). Last year I saw lots of rompers, overalls, flowy dresses and mesh, but most people played around with accessories, hairstyles and hats to spruce up any look. I also got everything from Forever 21 to keep everything super affordable.
I can imagine styles remaining pretty similar to years prior so here is a Pinterest board you can check out for more ideas.

It’s super easy to get caught up in what to wear, but choose what you will be most comfortable in! Don’t buy something because it’ll look great for the photos you’ll spend 10 minutes taking but something that will last you the whole day.
