Preparing for the Festival

Austin offers a wide range of accommodation options, from budget-friendly hostels to luxury hotels. Since the festival is popular, booking your accommodations well in advance is advisable. Staying in the downtown area can be convenient, as it offers easy access to the festival and Austin’s vibrant nightlife. Seismic also offers hotel and shuttle packages, making planning accommodations easier.
Weather
The weather can vary with the weather in Austin in November. 2022 was frigid cold and you needed multiple layers if you were at an outside stage. 2023 wasn’t as cold, but prepare for your outfits to be warm. You will go between being inside and outside so getting a locker can also be helpful depending on if you’ll be inside or outside.
What to Wear / What to Bring
In terms of what to wear, think your house and techno best. Seismic attendees typically wear some variation of an all-black outfit. Whether they’re wearing artist merch or opting for more street styles. Some do go for a more ravey vibey depending. Just be mindful of the weather as that could play a part in what you wear.
Some common things to bring could include a hydration pack, wallet and ID, portable phone charger, earplugs, gum, chapstick, hand warmers, and anything else you might need for your festival experience.

Festival Experience
Lineup and Stages
Seismic Dance Event features multiple stages, each with its unique atmosphere and sound. The festival is known for its diverse lineup, which includes both established artists and emerging talent in house and techno. The three stages include the Volcano stage which is inside The Concourse Project, Tsunami stage which is outside, and a third outside stage called The Realm. The best part about the artists that play Seismic is that they feel comfortable experimenting outside of what they typically play since they are playing to house and techno fans. I’ve seen some really incredible sets from my favorite artists that were outside of their typical norm of sets they’ve played.
Crowd
You can always expect the best vibes from the Seismic crowd. The ATX house and techno fam is always so kind and welcoming. You can easily vibe out with another stranger and make new friends. You’ll also meet people traveling from other places who also contribute to the great vibes.
