I attended the first ever Seismic Dance Event in September and it was one of my favorite two-day festivals I had ever been too. I’m rating Seismic Dance Event a solid 10/10 for the overall logistics, vibe of the festival and the incredible music I experienced over the weekend.
I am so happy that Real Music Events created Seismic Dance Event because this is something that has been missing from Austin. Don’t get me wrong I love ACL and Euphoria, but this all house and techno festival was what Austin has been needing. With a last minute switch in venues, Seismic was held at Travis County Expo which had a Rawhide feel type of venue for my Arizona friends who know that venue. It was almost better than Rawhide because there were bleachers and seating. My boyfriend and I could shuffle the whole set then take a break up in the seats and still enjoy the performance.
The Music
A two-day festival was the perfect amount of time to enjoy the festival and had a very stacked lineup. My personal favorites from the weekend were Green Velvet, TEED, Armand van Helden and Lane 8.
