Meet the 12 Year Old Raver Starting Her Own Festival Blog: Isabel Ruiz Interview

I am so excited to introduce to you, Isabel Ruiz. She is the young age of 12 years old currently living in Fort Mohave, Arizona. She has gotten bit by the EDM and festival bug. She just launched her own blog on going to festivals. I am enamored by her for having fallen in love with our community at such a young age. 1. What first brought you into EDM?

My big sister Vania introduced me to EDM when I was 9 years old. Ever since then I have been in love with it.

2. What was your first festival/rave experience like?

My first festival was Goldrush Arizona. It was the best day of my life. Everyone was very nice and it was on my birthday too. Everyone (including strangers) wished me a happy birthday which was really nice. I will never forget the moment I was in my first headbanging circle.

3. What’s your next event or show that you can attend?

I will be attending McDowell Mountain Music Festival and I will be seeing Odesza for the first time. I can’t wait for this festival because I get to be in my happy place again, not worrying about anything, letting go, and being me.

4. What are the top 3 festivals you hope to attend in the future?

In the future, I hope to go to Electric Forest, Lightning in a Bottle, and Holy Ship ( I know I have a looooong way to go for this one :/ ).

5. Who are your favorite artists?

My favorite artists are Odesza, Louis the Child and Big Gigantic.

6. Most recent artist you just discovered?

Some recent artists I have discovered are Big Wild, Chris Lake, Space Jesus and Bassnectar.

7. What has inspired you to start your own blog?

My sister Vania told me to start a blog. I was confused at first so I just started writing and it turns out it was a great idea.

8. What can readers expect from you this year?

Readers can expect a M3F experience blog in March and if we can find more festivals for all ages. They can also expect a how-to pack for a festival!
