We’re officially half-way through 2020.
*moment of silence*
What a year it has been. Astrologers and philosophers weren’t kidding when they said this year was going to be an awakening for all. We’re really getting hit with truths from all angles. It’s hard to find the peaceful moments between the chaos. Just when we think we’re in the clear and can take a breath, something else comes to light. More racial injustices, spikes in the pandemic, and allegations against artists being sexual predators and abusers, how can we keep going forward? We don’t really have a choice, but to.
So I always wonder how I can use my platform for good in order to help others. While I can’t share tips on how to prepare for your next festival or talk about the hottest festival lineup, I can talk about how to take care of yourself. This quarantine I’ve really tried to prioritize myself and find ways to look after myself. It’s something I’m still working on and it definitely takes time.
This month I’ll challenge you to find ways to prioritize yourself. Whether you’re the one to take care of others all the time or you find ways to distract yourself, take a moment once a day or once a week to put you first and see what that feels like. If you don’t know where to start, I hav a podcast episode all about it.
Ways I’m hoping to take care of myself this month:
- Workout 5 times a week
- Follow a plant-based diet with no cheats
- Daily prayer, meditation, journaling, reading, stretching and walks
- Doing hobbies I love like shuffling and learning to DJ
Go easy on yourself this month, have patience and kindness towards yourself. We’ve been given this time away from travel and festivals to work on ourselves. Do you want to come out of this on the other side better than you were before? Do the inner work this year so that you can live your life out when this pandemic has settled.
Sending you my love and well wishes this month. Don’t forget Black Lives still matter, make sure you register to vote, and take care of yourself. Stay vibey and my inbox is always open for you.
