Oh,
You wanna dance at decadence?
Welcome back, fam.
It’s about that time everyone starts planning their New Year’s Eve festival(s) and you have chosen Decadence Colorado in Denver.
The Logistics
Whether you’re coming from the East Coast, West Coast, or even the Third Coast, prepare to pack your warm clothes. Last year, temperatures when leaving the venue were about 0-5 degrees Fahrenheit. An easy solution to this is tying a hoodie around your hydration pack!
Bassheads, Househeads, Trap Nation, and even Trance family will all be in attendance so expect crowded stages and heavy volume lines. The event coordinators have been typically pretty good over the past years though in making sure there are ample employees working.
Parking can be difficult to find as the venue is the Denver Convention Center downtown so I advise arriving around doors time and parking in the convention center’s connected parking garage. Other than that, I would recommend street parking and walking as the lots will be charging around $30-$40 for a spot.
Tickets are still on sale and you have the option between GA and VIP. You can view the current pricing and what each ticket includes here.
Lodging
Do not fret!! There are affordable and close hotels to the Convention Center where the event is located in Downtown Denver.

Crowne Plaza Denver :

Last year was my first year at Decadence Colorado, or any Decadence for that matter. It is in a convention center so it is an indoor festival (thank goodness as it will be freezing walking to your car or waiting for your ride). There will be a coat check on the right when you enter through security so bring a little cash if you would like to be warm. There is a decent mixture of just about every type of attenddee from “hardcore ravers” to shuffle kings and queens to wooks lost from their commune to people who just had nothing else to do for New Year’s Eve and their job gave them the holiday off. Everyone is there to have fun for the most part and the vibes are definitely above average.
Lineup
With one of the most diverse lineups I’ve seen in recent years of mainstream festivals, there is something for just about everyone at Decadence Co this year. Loud bass will be provided in part by: Bassnectar, Mersiv, Ganja White Night, and Zeds Dead. While the groovin and movin’ will be reserved for Oliver Heldens, Rezz, Tiësto, and Louis the Child. (Personally, a Louis the Child ball drop has been a fantasy of mine for a long time). There are of course several other huge headliners that will be in attendance such as, Gigantic Nghtmre (Big Gigantic + Nghtmre), Clozee, Fisher, San Holo, Slander (FROM LOS ANGELES CALIFORNIA), Whethan, and a No-Redemption set from house icons Tchami x Malaa.

Stages
There are 3 stages at Decadence and the names change yearly. The main stage is where you will find major headliners like Bassnectar, Louis the Child, Griz, Illenium. Usually, there are art installations of crystals or extravagant chandeliers found at this stage! On the second stage, the clashing headliners are found there like Marshmello and Zedd. The third stage is the silent disco which I highly recommend to anyone that has never tried one before!
Now for the important stuff, FOOD.
As an avid Asian cuisine fan, I highly recommend Uncle Joe’s Hong Kong Bistro off 14th street. If you’re looking for bottomless mimosas, you have to go to The Corner Office for brunch. Watch out for the Chicken & Waffles though; they have bones in the chicken.
While You’re Not Blasting Your Eardrums
As I have mentioned before in my Global Dance article from the summer, there are a lot of things to enjoy during the winter in Denver. You can wear copious amounts of warm clothing and walk around 16th street mall and look at Christmas lights. You can sit in your hotel room covered in blankets and your favorite artist’s hoodie and stare out the window at the snow covering downtown. You can drink hot chocolate from Leela Cafe until your stomach hurts. Most important though, cherish your time with your friends and remember to always say excuse me when moving through the crowd.
See ya there! 🙂
