This month’s letter from the editor is coming straight from my journal entry this morning. Buckle yourselves up, tribe.
Crazy this is where we are, but that’s simply it. We’re here in the now. There’s no dwelling on the past or yearning for the future. All there is is to surrender to the now no matter how hard, scary, or sad it is. This is our reality as it exists now. I’ve wanted to run, escape, curl up in a ball, scream at the top of my lungs.
While that may make me feel better in the moment, it won’t change my reality. I’ll still be ordered to stay in my home. I’ve felt like I needed to rise to the occasion for my community to the point where the pressure made me numb & I crumbled. I realized it’s okay for me not to. I am a human that’s trying to process all of this too. I am trying my best as is everyone else. Surrendering, breathing, feeling what I need to feel and working through this is the only way out.
So what does this mean for us the next day, week, month?

What do I want to achieve in April?
What do I want to achieve while in quarantine?
Who do I want to be when this is all over?
What do I want to continue this month?
What do I want to stop this month?
What do I want to introduce this month?

What I want you to do is just focus on the next hour ahead of you. Do what you need to do and tend to what you need to tend to. Focusing on the next day, week, or month will only agonize you with possibilities. Serve yourself and fill your cup up with what you need. That may look different person to person and that’s okay. We all cope and handle things differently. We are being challenged more than ever to take care of ourselves and look out for each other.
If you’re having difficulty during this time, that it totally okay. I urge you to find time for yourself. Find a routine that works for you, reach out to friends and family for support, find a hobby that fires you up. Allow yourself grace and rest as needed. Practice gratitude daily to find the little things to be grateful for. Find ways to raise your vibration in a positive way so we can all lift each other up out of this. You won’t get a time like this to truly take care of yourself in this way.
