When you’ve attended festival after festival, accumulated wristband after wristband and then some, do you just put all that stuff away in the box? How do you display your memories? I got this idea at Electric Forest that many people might not know how to display their wristbands or where to start. I hope this inspires you to proudly create a space or item that can display your memories you gather festival after festival. Shoutout to everyone on Twitter who submitted to me 🙂
Here is how I display mine:
This has been accumulated since 2015. I have tickets, stickers, trinkets, pins, flyers and my wristbands on this board. I think I’ll have to get a new board by the end of 2019 which is exciting.
Bulletin Board
The classic bulletin board is probably the easiest option to put your memorabilia you get from festivals on this board. It’s a blank canvas at the start that leaves it all up for interpretation what you can do with it.
Shadow Boxes
Shadow boxes are also a great way to display wristbands, photos, etc. A shadow box is essentially a frame but has more room between the backing of it and the glass so it gives this shadow and depth effect to it. You can get these at any craft store.
Displays on Areas of the Room
If you have a little nook in your room or even a curtain rod in your room you can convert it into a memory space. This is great if you’ve collected posters to fill up that wall space.
Miscellaneous
These are just items that other people submitted to me where you can display your memorabilia.
Dream Catcher
Key Chain
Hat
Some Other Ideas:
- Christmas Ornaments
- Display on Your Dresser
- In Your Car/Stickers on Your Car Rear Window
Kandi Displays
If you’re a major kandi kid, here are some ideas as to how you can display your kandi.
**BONUS** Disposable Cameras
Disposable cameras have become a huge staple in getting photos of your precious moments at festivals. You can get a disposable camera and get it developed so you can look back on those moments captured.
Two fun ideas I heard regarding disposable cameras at Electric Forest was:
- Take all the photos on the disposable camera BUT don’t get them developed until the next year before you return to the festival again. EX: This girl was taking photos at Electric Forest 2019 but doesn’t plan to get the film developed until before Electric Forest 2020 to get her excited all over again to return home.
- Someone at Electric Forest left a disposable camera along with an envelope and instructions in the forest. If you found the camera, you had to take a photo and pass it on and leave it somewhere for someone else to find. The last person to take a photo on the camera could package the camera up with the provided envelope (already stamped) and drop it off at the post office in Electric Forest.
I hope this inspired you to proudly display your festival memorabilia that brings you joy and happiness. Getting to look back on the amazing memories you had is so sweet and is what keeps you going to event after event. When I have my hard days, I’m able to look at my board and reflect how grateful I am to have had such amazing experiences.
