I saw the lineup Decadence Colorado put up and IMMEDIATELY had chills. Even though I couldn’t go, I asked one of my first friends in Austin to write about her experience. Meet my good friend Brenda everyone! Brenda adopted me into her rave fam when I went to Houston for Something Wicked this year. She is so so sweet and can get down with the get down. Keep reading about how she rang in 2018 at Decadence Colorado.
Decadence Colorado was at the Colorado Convention Center in the heart of downtown Denver on December 30th and 31st. I liked that it was an indoor festival, so the idea of not being cold during the rave was definitely one of the reasons I leaned more towards this festival.
I loved that it was a two-day, indoor festival and that the lineup was straight fire! The production itself was phenomenal, there were these cool light up floating molecule structures, and even a web-like dome you could lie down inside with other people and just look up at the lights. I liked how outside of the stages there were a lot of interactive things to do if you were wanting to just walk around in between sets. There were virtual reality games, an awesome silent disco, and a water station next to each stage so you didn’t have to walk far at all to stay hydrated! They had plenty of restrooms, and not having to deal with portopoties was nice.
I really enjoyed the energy. Soooo many PLUR vibes in this festival for sure! It was my boyfriend and I’s first festival alone without our rave fam, and the amount of people we met that adopted us was just so incredible! Odesza hosting the countdown was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, that moment of just being in the crowd surrounded by new friends celebrating the new year together was my favorite part of the whole weekend.
Favorite Sets from The Weekend
My favorite sets… wow that’s a tough one. But I would have to say Odesza takes the spot for #1, hands down. I couldn’t think of a better way to bring in the new year. Get Real’s set was another favorite – Claude Vonstroke and Green Velvet looked so cute just having the time of their lives dancing on stage. I don’t remember seeing a single person not dancing. Armin Van Buuren totally threw down and ended my night perfectly. I was like, “HOOOOLLLYYYY SHIT” with those those lasers they had for him- I couldn’t keep up. Definitely one of the funnest sets.
This was my second year in a row going to Decadence Colorado, and I only fell in love with the festival more. From the lineup to the production, I would definitely return again!
